First Russian-Arabic Student Film Festival
On April 5, 2024, the First Russian-Arabic Student Film Festival was held at the Middle Eastern Club of the State Academic University for the Humanities.
The Festival’s aim is to unite students specializing in Arab studies, including foreign ones, and become a venue for cultural dialogue.
The Festival’s main feature is a competition of short film translations. The participants had to team up and write Arabic or Russian subtitles for one of the films. Nine teams from different universities (HSE University, MGIMO University, Russian Foreign Trade Academy, Diplomatic Academy, Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, Kosygin Russian State University) have been translating movies for two weeks.
The jury marked the following projects:
Best Arabic-Russian translation — "لو كنت ولد" (Diplomatic Academy)
Best Russian-Arabic translation — «MEMORIO» (MGIMO Universuty).
The audience also made its choice. Audience award — «Every 88th» ( Russian Foreign Trade Academy, Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, HSE University).

All participants showed high-level language expertise and received prizes. The winners received valuable awards.
