IOS RAS Researchers at the International Academic and Practical Conference “BRICS+ Diplomacy: A Turn towards the New World Order” (School of World Politics, Lomonosov Moscow State University)

 
On May 17, 2024, the School of World Politics of the Lomonosov Moscow State University held the International Academic and Practical Conference “BRICS+ Diplomacy: A Turn towards the New World Order”. Two researchers from the Institute of Oriental Studies RAS took part in it – Head of the Center of Indian Studies Prof. Tatyana Shaumyan and senior research fellow of the Center of Arab and Islamic Studies Dr. Ruslan Mamedov.

Dr. Mamedov’s paper “Egypt Within the Framework of BRICS+: Strengthening Cooperation with Russia” was presented at the session “BRICS+: Politics and Security”. The research included an analysis of factors that urged Egypt to join BRICS+, development of Egyptian-Russian cooperation within the framework of the organization and Egypt’s positioning in it.
