The Russian academic community was represented by experts from CAIS (Dr. Vasily Kuznetsov, Prof. Boris Dolgov, Dr. Grigory Lukyanov, Anastasia Vasilenko) and the Primakov Center. The Algerian side, for its part, was represented by the management of the National Institute of Strategic Global Studies (INESG), headed by Director General Prof. Abdelaziz Medjahed, and other experts - Prof. Yahia Zoubir, Director of Research in Geopolitics at KEDGE Business School, and Dr. Harif Akram, Editor-in-Chief of the MENADEFENSE.NET portal. Moreover, researchers from the International Crisis Group also took part in the event.

 

The workshop was dedicated to a wide range of issues related to security problems in Maghreb. The participants paid considerable attention to influence of the Ukrainian crisis on the situation in the region, conflict potential of the Algerian-Moroccan relations, and prospects for the development of Russian-Algerian ties.
