Presentation of the Magazine "Maraya International" "Russia - the New World Compass" Special Issue

 
On the 27th of 2022, within the walls of the Academic Councils Hall of the Institute of Oriental Studies (the Russian Academy of Sciences) a presentation of a special issue of the magazine "Maraya International" "Russia - the New World Compass" was held.

The event was held with the support of the international information center Maraya International. Fadi Budaya, the director general of the center, personally attended the meeting.

The presentation was attended by the following officials: Shauki Bou Nassar, Republic of Lebanon Ambassador to the Russian Federation, Smail Benamara, Ambassador of the Algerian People's Democratic Republic to the Russian Federation, Abdallah Isa, First Secretary of the Embassy of the State of Palestine in the Russian Federation, as well as prominent figures of science, religion, culture, and representatives of Russian oriental studies.

Alikberov Alikber, Director of the Institute of Oriental Studies made an opening speech. He emphasized in his speech the deep historical connection between Russia and the Arab countries. Then he noted the importance of multilateral dialogues within the framework of such meetings.

Vitaly Naumkin, Academician, the President of the Institute of Oriental Studies, welcomed the initiative of the Maraya Center in his speech, noting the importance of such an event for strengthening friendship between our countries. 

Greetings were also heard at the meeting from Mikhail Piotrovsky, the director of the State Hermitage Museum, historian and orientalist and Albir Kyrganov, the mufti of the Muslims Spiritual Assembly of Russia.

Shawki Bou Nassar, the Ambassador of the Lebanese Republic, noted the historical relations between our countries in his welcoming speech, he also praised the multilateral support of the Russian Federation to Lebanon and the other countries of the region at the present time.

The meeting was held in a friendly atmosphere. The event participants expressed their hope for bilateral cooperation development and similar initiatives that contribute to the relations deepening and mutual support between Russia and the Arab world.
